Weight Loss Journey
Most insurance policies will cover bariatric surgery. Navigating insurance can be a confusing process, but at the Chicago Institute of Advanced Bariatrics we have helped thousands of patients understand their insurance options and have a successful approval rate.
Preparing for Bariatric Surgery
As soon as you come into our Institute, you will be treated like family. We know all of our patients by name, and you will meet Dr. Lutfi on your very first visit.
Day of Surgery
We know that you will feel nervous when you arrive for your surgery, so we will do everything we can to help you feel at ease. Dr. Lutfi and our staff will answer any remaining questions you have, and we’ll review the day’s plans with you. We want to make sure that you know exactly what to expect and feel as comfortable as possible.
Recovery & Follow Up
After surgery, most of our patients spend one night in the hospital and go home the next day. They can begin exercising almost immediately. Since Dr. Lutfi performs minimally invasive bariatric surgeries, the recovery time is shorter and patients are left with only 4-5 small scars.
Life After Surgery
Bariatric surgery is just the beginning of your weight loss journey, so your treatment at our Institute does not end with your procedure. Our team will continue to work with you and help you to maintain your new lifestyle. We function almost like coaches to make sure you are well-informed and never lose your enthusiasm for eating healthy, exercising, and adhering to your new lifestyle.
Bariatric surgery is a tool to help you in your journey of weight loss. It is not a complete solution that will cure obesity alone. In order to achieve lasting success, lifestyle changes must be made that complement the weight loss surgery. One of the best ways to educate yourself, feel the support of a community, and get advice from others is to attend the bariatric surgery support group at the Chicago Institute of Advanced Surgery.
